I’m Angus Young, founder and publisher of Slow Cooking Perfected and Cooking Perfected. I live in beautiful Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
I started Slow Cooking Perfected because I fell in love with how easy it was to make hearty, delicious meals without much effort. As someone juggling content creation, running multiple websites, managing animals, and keeping a rural property humming, I needed a cooking method that didn’t demand hours in the kitchen. Slow cooking became my go-to for great food that fits effortlessly into a busy lifestyle.
What I love most is that you can throw everything into the slow cooker in the morning and almost forget about it until your kitchen starts to smell amazing.
In my spare time, you’ll find me gaming, gardening, hobby farming, or working on our rural property, where I care for animals, grow food, and keep things humming with a little home automation. I also enjoy traveling, especially to Japan.

More About Me
- Living on a rural property means I can access to plenty of seasonal vegetables, and I love using them in slow-cooked stews, soups, and sides. It’s deeply satisfying to grow the food, cook it low and slow, and enjoy it with minimal cleanup.
- When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m often gaming, gardening, hobby farming, or tinkering with home automation. I also run a tech site where I dive into projects involving Raspberry Pi, Linux, and other geeky fun.
- One of my personal favorite slow cooker recipes is the Beef Pie Filling—it’s comforting, full of rich flavor, and always a hit. I’ve also slow cooked some more experimental dishes over the years (yes, I’ve tried slow cooker lasagna—good, but the oven version still wins!).
